Blog Summary

NDR got a full overhaul - new report formats, revamped app flow, and AI address alerts to cut RTOs. Pickup failure handling moved to WhatsApp. Cargo and Platform got UI and API cleanups. International sellers get lower US tariffs (50% → 25%) and upfront surcharge visibility. Two bigger ones: Smart Orders auto-enables buyer WhatsApp updates and shipment protection on every order - no setup. ShipSure now recovers freight on RTOs with fully automated premiums and refunds.

Here’s a complete roundup of everything we shipped in April 2026, from a revamped NDR experience and smarter address intelligence to a major new launch that automatically protects and tracks every order you send. Whether you’re managing pickups, handling NDRs, or shipping internationally, this month had something meaningful for every seller.

Domestic Shipping

Reporting Improvements for Reverse Pickup (RVP) Deliveries

We’ve introduced hub-level email-based reporting for RVP orders that have been delivered to warehouse POCs. This makes daily reconciliation more structured and reduces manual follow-ups for high-volume sellers managing returns at scale.

New Report Formats Now Live for NDR Sellers

We’ve rolled out a refreshed, more intuitive version of NDR reports – making it easier to track, act on, and analyze your shipments directly from the Shiprocket panel. You can now access three distinct formats:

  • Actionable Shipments Report – Quickly identify shipments that need immediate action.
  • Full Shipments Report – Get a comprehensive view across all shipment statuses.
  • Old Format Report – Available for continuity, but will be deprecated in May 2026.

⚠️ Heads up: The old NDR report format will be deprecated by May 2026. We recommend switching to the new formats now.

This update simplifies workflows while giving you better visibility and control over your non-delivery exceptions.

AI-Powered Address Alerts During NDR Actions

We’ve introduced smart, contextual nudges that help sellers take the right action on shipments with poor address quality. The system now:

  • Automatically detects low-quality addresses (below a score of 30)
  • Prompts address correction before the shipment is resubmitted
  • Reduces repeat delivery failures and improves reattempt success – ultimately lowering your RTO rate

Revamped NDR Experience on the Shiprocket App

We’ve overhauled the NDR flow on Android and iOS to make managing non-deliveries faster and simpler from your phone. Key improvements include:

  • Actionable Swipes: Take instant actions from the NDR list – no need to open multiple screens.
  • Faster SPR Flow: Simplified SPR filing with significantly lower drop-offs. The app is now outperforming desktop for this flow.
  • Better Action Visibility: Call Buyer, Act on Shipment, and Mark RTO are now easier to access.
  • In-App Education: Short videos help sellers quickly adopt the new features.

Improved Pickup Failure WhatsApp Flow

Sellers now have a smarter WhatsApp-native way to handle unsuccessful pickups. The updated flow offers three clear paths:

  • Reattempt Pickup – Instantly raises a retry request
  • Escalate Pickup – Triggers reattempt along with a support ticket
  • Pickup Completed – Lets sellers mark handover even when tracking is delayed

The flow also prevents premature escalations before scheduled pickup windows, reduces false escalations through improved tracking visibility, and sends WhatsApp updates on ticket resolution status.

Platform Improvements

We’ve introduced several enhancements this month to simplify day-to-day operations, improve accuracy, and give sellers better financial visibility.

  • Picklist from ‘New’ Tab: Download picklists directly from the New orders tab for faster processing.
  • Smarter Multi-Order Search: The search input now auto-formats entries – spaces and line breaks are converted to commas – so pasting from spreadsheets just works.
  • API Enhancements: The Address Update API now supports latitude and longitude fields. The Order API now supports box_name for better package tracking.
  • Finances & Settings Upgrade: Cleaner breakdown of Freight and VAS charges; consolidated COD remittances (received and upcoming); unified wallet transactions and billing (Invoices, DN, CN); and improved Settings usability across the panel.

International Shipping

Two important updates this month for sellers shipping to the US and UK:

  • Freight Surcharge Transparency: Owing to the current global trade situation, freight surcharges for shipments to the USA and UK are now clearly displayed on the Ship Now screen – so you see the full cost before committing.
  • Reduced USA Tariffs: Tariffs on USA-bound shipments have been reduced from 50% to 25% (effective February 12). Metal shipments continue at 50%; books remain fully exempt.

Cargo – Experience Improvements

Cargo got a meaningful set of upgrades this month across appointment scheduling, shipment visibility, and the homepage experience:

  • Revamped Appointment (ABD) Experience: Policy visibility on the UI, channel partner input support, improved date logic (EDD+1 with a 5 PM cut-off), and the ability to reschedule in advance without waiting for a missed appointment.
  • All Shipments Page – New Design: A redesigned, more action-driven interface with improved usability.
  • New Homepage Experience: A cleaner layout that makes it easy to complete KYC, recharge wallet, create orders, and access the rate calculator – all in one place.
  • Additional Features: E-COD for Cargo sellers, FTL invoicing, bulk shipment creation, TeleCRM retention modules, and Blinkit integration.

AI & Intelligence

Address Intelligence at Order Creation

We’ve extended address quality checks to the order creation flow – not just at the NDR stage. Sellers now see real-time warnings for low-quality addresses and are prompted to correct them before the shipment is dispatched. Catching address issues earlier means fewer delivery failures, lower RTO, and less back-and-forth downstream.

Smart Orders – New Launch

We’re introducing Smart Orders, a new intelligence layer that activates automatically on every shipment – no setup needed. It brings together two things sellers typically had to manage separately: keeping buyers informed and protecting shipments from loss or damage.

Smart Orders includes two components:

  • Notify – Sends real-time WhatsApp updates to your buyers at every milestone: order confirmation, dispatch, out for delivery, and delivery. Fewer “where is my order” calls, better post-purchase experience, higher repeat rates.
  • Auto Secure – Automatically covers every shipment above ₹2,500 against loss, theft, and damage. No opt-in per order, no paperwork. Premiums are applied automatically and claims are handled through the platform.

Smart Orders is already live for 3 lakh+ brands on Shiprocket and has driven a 30% reduction in WISMO queries for sellers using Notify. Both features work in the background – you ship as usual and the protection and communication happen automatically.

ShipSure – RTO Protection Gets Smarter

ShipSure has been significantly enhanced this month to help sellers recover more from RTOs with a fully automated and paperless experience.

  • Freight Recovery on RTOs: Recover freight charges on eligible RTO orders – protecting margins even when a delivery fails.
  • Instant, Paperless Activation: Single-step digital onboarding with no forms or delays.
  • Automated Premiums & Refunds: Premiums are auto-applied per order, and refunds are triggered automatically on eligible RTOs. No manual intervention required.
  • Real-Time Visibility: Track refunds, billing cycles, and protection performance through a centralized dashboard.
